Preliminary Task 1 (practice shot )

Image
AS Media Studies- Practice shot With this being our first time using the cameras, we wanted to play around with different shot types that we wanted to use in our first preliminary task. We practiced:  close ups over the shoulder high angles shots mid shot wide shots  This was helpful to familiarise ourselves with the angles that we will need to film from, as well as highlighting mistakes that we made,( negative space, framing effectively, not forgetting important equipment like sound.) ,ensuring that when it comes to filming our real preliminary task, that things would go much smoother. With this being said, this task helped our group to firstly know how to work together and getting used to each others personal dynamic and skills, as well as thinking on the spot and creating something under time pressure. This was a fun and creative task, in which I enjoyed very much!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TSeyoNpyLI  Camera Shots: I learnt from this video, that very wide cameras shots are not only used to show the character's surroundings, but can also be used to show the character's challenge that they need to face or overcome. Full shots can also be used when two or more characters are in the frame, or when the background adds a little more context to either the storyline or the character itself. A medium full shot singles out the character that the audience should focus on. Cowboy shots are mainly used for the "hero effect" as it is a strong powerful shot. Medium shot is rather common in film, as this is how us as humans interact with, and talk with each other on the day to day basis. Close up shot, focuses on the subjects head, which can show a lot of facial expression, allowing the audience to know the characters emotion and thoughts on certain things. It can give the audience a lot of information e.g whether something is not quit

Welcome Blog AS Media 2023

Hello there, my name is Hope and I am studying AS media in year 13.I live in New Zealand, but I also love to travel ;). My mum moved from Togo, a west African country, and met my Dad when she came to new Zealand. I embrace my African culture with lots of pride and love. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoy trying foods from different cultures and countries. My personal favorites are African , Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my mum and family, as well as with friends. I also work part time at a clothing store, as well as looking after kids either babysitting or at holiday club. I am so excited to join As media this year as I will learn new expertise, and develop and  grow the skills I already have. I thoroughly enjoy watching movies , as it is one major way I relax. The reality of learning the different elements and components that go into making successful films and movies is something I find very exciting and interesting. I
